Tracked Systems

As the name suggests, tracked systems employ a ground track along which slides the main gate leaf by means of 2 no. Wheels or Rollers postioned on the bottom rail.

The gate is held up-right by a guide rail and 2 no. Guides positioned at the mid or top rail height.

In the manual mode the gate is very easy to slide open and closed as the roller wheels incorpoate precision bearings.

The method of automating is based on a rack and pinion basis, the motor unit has a drive gear which engages into a linear rack positioned on the lower rear face of the gate, the gear wheel simply drives the gate open and closed.

The motor incorporates and control card which can be set up to the correct closing force and open/close limits.

Sliding Gate Systems will need to include appropriate safety devices to ensure complete safety.

Safety requirements will be identified during a site survey/risk assessment and may include the following:-

  • Leading Edge Safety Strips
  • Photocells/Safety Beams
  • Induction Ground Loop Detectors
  • Force Limitation – Motors
  • Signage or warning lights
