How long is your quotation valid for?

We limit this to 30 days from the date of issue.

Can you loose the VAT, mate?

Sorry, where VAT is payable we have to charge it at the prevailing rate, currently 17.5%.

What about VAT on new builds or barn conversions?

Okay, you need to check the current criteria set out by HRMC, their website is very informative.

Generally speaking new builds are zero rated for only the manual gate element and the installation labour cost.

The electrical element (operators/access controls etc) is not zero rated, they attract 17.5% VAT.

Gates or Doors for Barn conversions (subject to meeting HRMC criteria), may be payable at a reduced rate of 5%, again you need to check this first with HRMC.
